"Being a CASA has made me feel like a better person. I can count the number of lives I have personally impacted and visibly see the diference that it has made. This program gives me a chance to give back to my community, my home."

-Kevin Houck, 2007 Colorado CASA Volunteer of the Year

About Us

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Adams and Broomfield Counties is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that trains and supervises community volunteers to represent the best interests of our most vulnerable citizens-child victims of physical, sexual or emotional abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children in court. The desired result is that children are placed into safe, loving homes where they can thrive.

After completing CASA training, volunteers are sworn in as Officers of the Court. Volunteers ensure that each child has a voice in court and that the Judge receives up-to-date, pertinent information so important decisions may be made regarding the child's educational and health related needs, therapy, visitation, and ultimately permanency. Each volunteer is vital in determining a safe and permanent home for the child.
