Our Mission

The mission of CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties is to provide court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth from the child welfare system so every child can be safe, have a permanent home, and the opportunity to thrive.

Volunteer

CASA Volunteers advocate for children and youth who are involved in Dependency & Neglect and Truancy court proceedings. Volunteers come from all backgrounds and draw on their life experiences to support children and families through the duration of a case.

More than a quarter of Colorado students were chronically absent from school last year, meaning they missed 10% or more of the school year. The high rate of chronic absenteeism has resulted in an increase in truancy filings in the 17th Judicial District. This led Magistrate Lord-Blegen to request the support of CASA Volunteers on truancy cases, and we have agreed to step up to meet this need.
