Bystander Intervention

Bystander intervention is recognizing a potentially harmful situation or interaction and choosing to respond in a way that could positively influence the outcome. As opposed to allowing the Bystander effect creep in, active bystanders are empowered to use tools they have learned to make a difference when a situation arises around them. This training discusses some tactics that folks can use in these scenarios to intervene and ensure we are all looking out for one another. We know harmful situations take place constantly, and it’s easy to feel disempowered and hopeless about stopping them. This training focuses on the impact of an individual and the power we do have to change how things unfold around us.
