Over the past year, our CASA Volunteers have advocated for 622 children. However, there are many more children without a CASA Volunteer to be their voice and speak up for them in court. We need to recruit more volunteers and raise more funds to close this gap and serve more children.
As an organization that fundraises 100% of our budget, our success relies on many partners, including a large network of corporations, foundations, government agencies, and dedicated community members… people just like you!
Research has shown that children with a CASA Volunteer are:
- More likely to find a safe, permanent home
- More likely to succeed in school
- Half as likely to re-enter the foster care system
Consequently, youth who age out of foster care are more likely to face risk factors such as becoming incarcerated, experiencing homelessness, and being unemployed. Those factors add up to future direct costs to the community of $300,000 for each child that ages out. When a stable adult, such as a CASA Volunteer, is in a child’s life, those future risk factors can be drastically mitigated. It costs the CASA Program $1,200 to provide a CASA Volunteer to one child for one year.
