When thinking about CASA, and the work it does for children in the court system who need a voice, it is hard not to also think about the wonderful outside entities that make the work possible. As a nonprofit, CASA depends heavily on community support and are extremely honored to be the recipients of a $1,300 donation made by Guys Who Give – Broomfield.

Guys Who Give, founded by Justin Livingston in 2015, aims to make the biggest difference in the smallest amount of time, doing what they refer to as “flash philanthropy”: they meet, each member pitches an organization to support and why it matters, they cast a vote, and write a check. Often, they also use this time to meet with last month’s beneficiary and hear what they have done/plan to do with the donation.

CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties Executive Director, Lindsay Lierman, met with the creators of the newly-formed GWG Broomfield chapter; Tanner Tweten, Jeff Gazaway and Erik Brum, in late August and proudly accepted the group’s first ever gift. “I am proud to have such an amazing group choose CASA to be the first recipient for the $1,300 donation. It costs the program $1,200 to serve an abused and neglected child and these funds will help reach more children in need. CASA is a great volunteer opportunity that anyone can and should get involved in.” said Lindsay.

Guys Who Give now have 5 chapters total, with Boulder, Denver, Larimer County, Ashville, North Carolina and Kalamazoo County, Michigan. Collectively, Guys Who Give has raised $150,000 since it was founded. They show no signs of slowing down, with their new goal being to raise $1 million for charities across the U.S., while uniting people with a common goal for change. CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties thanks Guys Who Give and the wonderful work they do!
