Attendance Works: Creating a Culture of Belonging and Engagement

While chronic absence levels are starting to decrease in many places, rates are still much higher than pre-pandemic. Although everyone can help ensure students show up to class every day, the leadership role that a principal plays is irreplaceable. In our third Attendance Awareness Campaign webinar, school leaders will share inspiring insights about what works to engage students and families as we continue to recover from the pandemic’s impact. Speakers will explore how the transition to school in the fall can be leveraged to nurture engagement, nourish relationships and cultivate a routine of regular attendance. They’ll discuss how they are using lessons learned from the prior school year to inform their back-to-school strategies. We’ll also consider how schools and districts can focus on helping students stay healthy and avoid unnecessary absences. And we’ll share new Attendance Works resources.
